I have IPv6-only hosts on my network, which is how I discovered while trying
to to network performance testing that iperf doesn't do IPv6 by default; it
requires a non-default option (-V) to enable ipv6 support.

IPv6 is 20 years old.  It is not reasonable to require additional options in
order for tools to work with ipv6.
