Hello,

In firefox-esr 91 in Debian 11, webext-ublock-origin-firefox makes Firefox
consumes 100% of a CPU core while browsing, and especially in YouTube.

When the latest version of ublock-origin is installed from Firefox add-ons, and
the Debian package webext-ublock-origin-firefox is removed, the issue
disappears, and I don't experience the 100% CPU consumption any more.

Best,
Amr

Hi,

thanks for the report. If you install version 1.40.2+dfsg-1 from unstable, does
this resolve your problem? I have noticed similar issues with Firefox on
websites which make heavy use of Javascript but I don't experience them with
Chromium.

Regards,

Markus

However, the same version from Firefox Add-ons is fine, no 100% CPU.

Thanks for your analysis. It seems this issue is fixed in Firefox 95 but the
fix has not been backported to Firefox ESR yet. Let's wait for an update.

Thanks for your report. I believe this issue has been fixed in Firefox hence
why I am going to close this bug report now.
