Hi, tried to compile kernel 5.16.0 from kernel.org.
At linking point I get:

This looks like a bug in ld (part of binutils), not a bug in
bugs.debian.org. I'm guessing that this is binutils 2.35.2-2.

Please confirm the version and the architecture that you are seeing this
bug in.
