Dear mentors,
I am looking for a sponsor for my package "fig2sxd":
* Package name : fig2sxd
Version : 0.23-2
Upstream Author : Alexander Bürger <acfb@users.sourceforge.net>
* URL : https://gitlab.com/acfbuerger/fig2sxd/
* License : GPL-2
* Vcs : https://gitlab.com/acfbuerger/fig2sxd.git
Section : graphics
It builds these binary packages:
fig2sxd - convert XFig files to OpenOffice.org format
To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:
https://mentors.debian.net/package/fig2sxd/
Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:
dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/fig2sxd/fig2sxd_0.23-2.dsc
Changes since the last upload:
fig2sxd (0.23-2) unstable; urgency=low
* New upstream version.
* Improved debian packaging, updated compat to 13 (see #965518).
Regards,
Alexander
A new upstream version never has revision -2.
Unfortunately, the first attempt to use debhelper in debian/rules failed to build and I only noticed that after publication on gitlab with debian/changelog specifying version 0.23-1. The packaging fix did, of course, not change anything outside the debian directory, so the upstream version is unchanged. Therefore, the debian revision is now "2".

I do not see any solution to this problem: - rewriting the commit history on gitlab is not an option - decreasing the version number (debian revision) is not an option - uploading 0.23-1 will probably not help as that version will not build when freshly unpacked -- if uploading is allowed at all, now that 0.23-2 has been uploaded Do you have any suggestions how to solve this? I noticed too late that debhelper refuses to build 0.23-1 when freshly unpacked. The package builds fine from a directory where the program has been built before, and I did not test building in a new directory before uploading to mentors.debian.net.
Am 20.01.2022 um 08:49 teilte Alexander Bürger mit: Hi, Why not? You just have to remove the tag and rewrite the commit message. Then fix the debian/changelog and try again. Why not? We just have to make sure that 0.23-2 & 0.23-1 have been removed from Debian Mentors upload queue. Hilmar
