Dear maintainers,
I have a similar issue with localization, but vice-versa:
I am running Thunderbird version 128.10.0esr (64-bit) on Debian 13, Linux Kernel 6.12.27-amd64 running under the Xfce 4.20 desktop environment, all packages installed from the main Debian package repository.
My environment variables are set to English language, but German regional settings:
Now, my calendar (or e-mail reply header etc.) displays times in en_US-notation (with AM/PM), though. Please see attached for a screenshot of the events pane containing several events, all with AM/PM times.
Thunderbird claims to honor the system settings/environment variables (and did, in the past). I am pretty sure that they are set correctly, since virtually all of my other applications behave as expected.
Additional information:

Console / terminal date on the same system, same user logged in, TB running in parallel:
If there is anything that I should try or report to help fix this, please let me know.
Regards,
Ferdinand Rau
