Hi,
since the advent of machine readable copyright files, my inner monk has
felt forced to pay more close attention to licensing of translations.
Oh, what a mess.
To make things easier for my translators, I put a nice header into
debian/po/templates.pot, giving a meaningful copyright entry, stating
explicitly that a translator might add herself there, and that it would
be nice if the translation would be put under the same license like the
package.
Imagine my surprise when debconf-updatepo replaced my nice header with
the usual blurb of SOME DESCRIPTIVE TITLE and Copyright (C) YEAR THE
PACKAGE'S COPYRIGHT HOLDER again.
Can po-debconf in some way be convinced to leave the leading comments of
a file alone when updating the contents?
This might be a property of a different program since I had a program
translation de-beautified the same way, but I don't enough about all
this po-pot-translation business to correctly judge. Feel free to point
me in the correct direction please.
