(This is the contents of NEWS.Debian.gz.) The last line is outdated too.
Running 'dpkg-reconfigure dash' no longer offers the ability to switch back
to using bash for /bin/dash.
Although the /usr/share/doc/dash/changelog.Debian.gz entry for Thu, 03 Mar
2022 contains "Stop using debconf to select the default /bin/sh." it
doesn't explain why this change was made, or what the recommended way is to
use bash as /bin/sh now.
It would be great if the package could have an updated NEWS.Debian.gz that
reflects the current behaviour of the package and advises users how they
should continue to use bash as /bin/sh if they so wish.
Thanks.
Mike.
