   * What led up to the situation?

I installed the game and tried to play, after adjusting some of the options.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I then clicked the "Play" button, chose a few AI opponents and then clicked the
"Okay" button.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Atomic Tanks exited on SIGABRT. The problem is one (or more) of the options I
changed, because if I move ~/.atanks/ out of the way and do not touch any of
the options, it works. If I reset the options it works too.
I attach my ~/.atanks/atanks-config.txt: please note that I edited it by hand
and used a few values out of range in the MONEY section, but the problem was
there even before that manual edit.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

The game to start.

I think this bug may have been fixed in the upstream development code. I
just tried running the game with the provided altered configuration
file. The development branch of Atanks and the provided config runs.
There had been a landscape calculation bug in version 6.6 which has
since been fixed and I suspect that's the issue.

Debian could either package the development branch, patch Atanks 6.6
with the fix (see attached), or wait for the next version which I
suspect will be out mid-2022.
