Not only is this scanning wasteful, and productive of unhelpful
results from `locate`, it can also prevent the unmounting of the
snapshot volume, leading to backup failures.

The rsbackup package would also benefit from this -- it keeps snapshots
at /var/lib/rsbackup/snapshots.
