What led up to the situation? Rebooting system.

What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? just
upgrading as usual (sudo apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade)

What was the outcome of this action? restart time increased, it takes 45
seconds from starting services screen to login screen and 22 seconds from login
to desktop. It used to be starting services screen ended and immediately (doubt
it could check with a stopwatch) brought up log in screen and login screen to
desktop was as fast.

What outcome did you expect instead? Faster loading
