We are trying to build nheko in pureos and it is a a bit complicated

If we use gbp components and pristine-tar (we use it a lot in js-team)
then origtargz or gbp export-orig --pristine-tar can create all the
tarballs from the git repo. Currently we have to use apt source or dget
to get the tarballs and this works only after a version is uploaded to
archive.

We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of
nheko, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive.
