Dear Maintainer,

Thunar crashes when started after a period of disuse on my laptop. It
immediately logs out XFCE and returns me to the login prompt.

To reproduce -
  1. Use the computer, but do not use Thunar for about 20 minutes
  2. Start Thunar either by running `thunar` in a terminal or opening a
  folder from the launcher
  3. Approx 50% of the time, the system will immediately return to the
  login prompt.

I have tried to capture information or debugging logs from thunar to
reproduce this, but it doesn't seem to log anything to the
terminal before crashing.

If you have suggestions for capturing detailed debug logs, please let me
know and I'm happy to try.

The laptop was freshly installed from the testing netinst ISO two weeks
ago. I copied in my home directory from an existing debian bullseye
installation, including all config.

I have deleted ~/.cache and Thunar-specific config files under ~/.config
to reset them, but the issue remains.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Kind regards

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

that's really weird but honestly I can't do much with it. If that still
happens, can you check in journalctl and dmesg, as well as .xsession-errors?
