Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
     Upgrading evolution a year ago
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
     apt-get dist-upgrade
   * What was the outcome of this action?
New messages in a local spool+smtp account are always marked as new,
clicking them marks then as read for some seconds — afterwards the message is
marked as new again
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Ability to mark messages on the spool directory as read

in Debian/testing, Evolution is unable to write access the spool directory and
mark read messages as "read". Clicking a message marks this message as "read"
for some seconds, afterwards the message status returns to "new". I assume,
this is, because of Evolution can't write to the spool directory of mails.

My mail spool directory permissions are set to the Debian defaults, and
Sylpheed can access the spool directory for writing. Sylpheed works fine with
my settings and mail spool permissions.

Thank you very much for your kind attention.

With many greetings,

Adrian Kieß

Dear Maintainer,

instead of Evolution I use Thunderbird on Debian/testing today.

I can't say if the bug/problem I described still exists.

Thank you.

Adrian
