On one of my systems whenever network-manager connects to a WiFi
network it generates an unusable resov.conf:

	# Generated by NetworkManager
	search example.org

Other devices on the same network manage to acquire a sensible
nameserver from DHCP, and this has manifested on every network
I've tried with recently. The networks are set to use automatic
network configuration and DNS for both IPv4 and IPv6, and
resolv.conf does get updated automatically. Setting an explicit
DNS server does generate a useful network configuration.

Can you provide the .(nm)connection file which shows this behaviour
(make sure to redact any PSKs)?

They are stored in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections

A debug log showing the problem would be helpful as well.
For that run
NetworkManager --log-level=DEBUG --debug
