Hey. Unfortunately #977014 has been ignored so far, but no I just noted that even when one explicitly disabled apache2-doc.conf via a2disconf, it still gets rather silently re-enabled on upgrading the package, which is IMO quite unfortunate. Please fix at least that, or even better #977014, in which case this bug here would become obsolete. Thanks :-) Chris.
Justification: Policy §10.7.3 This package overwrites local changes on upgrade, which is a release-critical bug as it’s a Policy violation.
Hello, Bug #1018718 in apache2 reported by you has been fixed in the Git repository and is awaiting an upload. You can see the commit message below and you can check the diff of the fix at: https://salsa.debian.org/apache-team/apache2/-/commit/330c94476d5801bdf8b4cea1200add1b84fcf6f3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don't automatically enable apache2-doc.conf Closes: #1018718 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ (this message was generated automatically) -- Greetings https://bugs.debian.org/1018718
Hey. Thanks for the fix. Am I right that this *generally* does not longer enable apache2- doc.conf per default (i.e. also on fresh installs)? Causes that would also make it fix #977014. Cheers, Chris.
Hi, yes you're right Sure, thanks for the link I saw in this issue that you were a little frustrated by the lack of responsiveness in apache2 maintenance. But apache2 is "RFH" and I'm not C expert neither apache user so I try to do my best until someone more qualified takes over. Best regards, Yadd
You've marked it as fixed but haven't closed it. Was that on purpose or should I close it? Uhm... don't take that too serious... it was rather just some unfortunate wording and not really meant critical... ... in general I highly appreciate the work of any DM/DD :-) Cheers, Chris.
We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of
apache2, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive.
A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is
attached.
Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 1018718@bugs.debian.org,
and the maintainer will reopen the bug report if appropriate.
