Maybe the software is confused because the message-id contains "/"? It's
a bit unusual, but valid AFAICT.

That is the issue. In addition, passing the message-id doesn't work:

There is a workaround, you can use a URL query parameter instead:

https://lists.debian.org/msgid-search/?m=YmFsKzO/Jl3xTdoD@roeckx.be
