Dear Maintainer,

I am running LXQT on an EEEPC with debian/stable. There is an issue, I cannot exactly specify, which part is responsible, so let me just describe it.

When started LXQT the first time, a window pops up and wants to enter the root password, so that it can actualize the smart-data for the harddrive. When done so, the window disappears.

However, when I leave LXQT and change to a console by using "CTL + ALT + 2", and revert back to X with "CTL + 7" (terminal 7 is where the window manager is running), this behaviour appears again and I have to enter the root password again.

This happens every time ands can be reliable repeated.

As this might also be a security issue (can be misused by shoulder surfing or somehow else, it is a little bit annoying, too).

It would be nice, if you could fix this.

I tested this with other window managers, too, like LXDE, KDE and XFCE, there this behaviour did not appear.

Thank you very much for any help!

Best regards

Hans

Hello,

I don't find such issue in a fresh installed bookworm. Does this issue
has been fixed in bookworm release? Or you also installed any specfic
package to fetch the smart-data?

Best regards,
