Dear Maintainer,

older propgrams using alsa at some point stopped working due to "undefined symbol: vorbis_version_string", e.g.:

   ALSA lib conf.c:3725:(snd_config_hooks_call) Cannot open shared library libasound_module_conf_pulse.so (/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libsndfile.so.1: undefined symbol: vorbis_version_string)

They happened to work with older versions, so it seems somehow a symbol or dependency went missing.

which 'older programs'?

- Debian packages? which ones?
- self-compiled programs? which ones? does the error go away if you
re-compile them?
