Hello,

A long time ago, I set

   mail.compose.other.header=References,In-Reply-To,Message-ID,Sender

in order to be able to set or override some header values when composing
a mail or newsgroup post. It has worked as expected so far.
This version introduced an unexpected behaviour.

1) When composing a reply, if mail.compose.other.header contains
"References" then default In-Reply-To: and References: headers are missing.

2) When viewing a mail or newsgroup post, with Display > Headers >
Normal is selected (mail.show_headers=1), any header present in
mail.compose.other.header and in the message is displayed with an empty
value.

Steps to reproduce:

Set mail.compose.other.header=References
Stop and restart Thunderbird.
Display any existing reply message which has a Reference: header.
Compose a reply to a mail or newsgroup article and save it as draft.
Display the message source (Ctrl+u) and check that the Reference: and/or
In-Reply-To headers are missing.

Hello Pascal,

this sounds not as an regression that is based on Debian packaging and
modification. This sounds more like some upstream issue maybe introduced
recently by the upstream development.

Could you please report your problem to the Bugzilla bugtracker and give
us a linking to the bug report afterwards?

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org

In the past upstream could fix such similar reports quite quick, so the
chances to get a MZLNA developer interested is high to me.

Hello Pascal,

I've added that upstream bug report so the BTS will inform if something
is happen within the upstream report.
Thanks!

Hello Carsten,
Bugzilla found an existing bug report which seems to be related:
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1800759>
I added my observations and will report.
