This is the description of the "emacs" binary package, which
is indeed a metapackage. But this makes no sense for the
source package.

Probably nothing, just like for packages that do not have a binary
package with the same name as the source package. Example:

https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/glibc

Otherwise, if there is a rule about the description in the case where
there is a binary package with the same name as the source package,
some filtering could be done based on the requirements. For instance,
specific strings such as "(metapackage)" (or more generally, the whole
parenthesized text) could be removed.

Couldn't this be a future feature?
