Comments/Problems:
Freshly installed system would not boot. These were the messages on the console:
-------------- begin screen output ----------------
cryptsetup: Waiting for encrypted source device UUID=<blah> (several repetitions of this line)
Gave up waiting for suspend/resume device
cryptsetup: Waiting for encrypted source device UUID=<same blah as above>
Gave up waiing for root file system device.
Common problems:
- Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
- Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
- Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/mapper/pbp--vg-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
------------------- end screen output ---------------
It never did drop to a shell prompt. At this point the machine was dead. Hitting <enter> did nothing. I couldn't switch to a different vt.
