   * What led up to the situation?

 Trying to fetch mail from microsoft365 account, where oauth2 is configured
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
After upgrade I started thunderbird as usual.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

"waiting icon", message "connected to outlook.office365.com" in status
bar. No new mails were fetched.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Fetch new mails.

regressions that could result in the problems you did encounter.
