revolt has been working fine for me using bookworm for the last few
months, but on the last update of packages it stopped appearing in my
session.
Investigation shows that if you run 'revolt', there is a short pause
and the shell prompt returns. No output, no application window.
I do not know what has gone wrong and it's probably not revolt itself
(which has not changed since dec 2021) but something in the
surrounding OS/GUI that has changed.
Attached is a long systrace which might give a clue. I can see a great
deal of C library and python startup process, then comms with the X
server, then something times out and it exits. I do not know enough
about the application, X-setup or electron apps to guess why it is
failing to start.
I'm mostly filing this bug to see if it's just me or if others have this
issue. It's quite important to have this working in bookworm IMHO.
Other matrix clients still work fine (nheko, element in firefox).
