Dear Maintainer,

there exist dependency to mingw-w64 build system,
and in label binary-indep is called i686-w64-mingw32-strip.

This is not nice for cross building, where not need any w64 binaries,
and typically the whole build system for i686-w64-mingw32 is never need.

Why was put the build for "gzip.exe" in binary-indep packages for a Linux system?

Please remove the dependency mingw-w64 and do not build "gzip.exe".

Hi Milan,

We havn't seen quite some time - hope this will change at this years
DebConf. ;-)

As I wrote on debian-devel list[1] I pushed some changes to the Git
repository of gzip for your kind inspection. Please upload at least to
experimental if you think more testing is needed before targeting
unstable.

See you
   Andreas.
