Initial boot:           [E]

GRUB starts fine, when selecting either Install or Graphical Install,
booting halts with just a static "_" on the display.

I'll try to troubleshoot this a bit further and attach more info to the bug, this is
a student's laptop so I'm not sure how long I'll have access to it.
