Hello maintainers of sddm-greeter,
During automated testing of the d-i netinst image on openQA [1], the following
issue was found:
After the installation was completed and the virtual machine (2 GB memory, QXL
video driver) was rebooted, instead of the login screen, the screen stays
black. This only happens when booting via BIOS, when the installer was booted
with UEFI [2], everything works as expected.
On the openQA instance that I'm running locally, all works fine too.
This issue looks similar to #8087770, #839236 and #1016050
I've been able to extract and resolve a crash-dump, see attachment.
More logs can be found in the openQA page [3] (I've placed the coredump in [4])
My guess is that the issue probably depends on the hardware that is running
qemu.
If you want to have access to the machine while the bug is present, please
contact me, I can grant you access to the running VM.
Please ignore all following automated system information, this report is
generated on my own computer, not the affected VM. The information about the VM
can be found in [3].
With kind regards,
Roland Clobus
