Dear Maintainer,

Using pipewire with JuK under Debian Stable (Bookworm) with an Anker
Soundcore 2 results in the beginning of every track being messed up.
I've also noticed similar oddities when playing audio from Firefox.

More precisely, when the track begins, the first bit of audio heard is
not the start of the track. Then there's a brief pause where there is
no audio. Then the track resumes from the first snippet of audio.

This destroys the user listening experience, so much so that I have
now switched back to using Pulseaudio on Bookworm, which appears to
be flawless when playing tracks from Juk.

Are you using your Anker Soundcore 2 via bluetooth? It could be a bluetooth
issue. Could you try to connect your speaker via a jack wire to discard any
bluetooth issue if any.

Do you use wireplumber as session manager for pipewire?

Yes I am, in both cases. It has been consistently fine under pulseaudio
with Bullseye. Upgrading to Bookworm which switched over to pipewire
exhibited the issue consistently. Switching Bookworm back to pulseaudio
and the issue goes away.

I don't have a cable to connect via a jack, sorry.

It seems the upgrade to Bookworm installed that for me, and logs show
that it had been running. In terms of "use", until you mentioned it, I
was unaware of it.

It could be a bluetooth regression, I would suggest to try the latest version
of pipewire since 0.3.65 is quite old now. As soon as the bookworm-backports
repositories are open, I will upload a newer version of pipewire + wireplumber.
Once you can reproduce this issue with a more recent version of pipewire,
it is worth opening a bug upstream at:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/issues

I asked because some users use the deprecated pipewire-media-session
session manager instead of wireplumber.
