Start emacs (it doesn't matter whether you have ~/.emacs or not).  The
buffer *Messages* begins as follows:

Loading /etc/emacs/site-start.d/00debian.el (source)...done
Loading /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50a2ps.el (source)...
Error while loading 50a2ps: Symbol’s value as variable is void:
menu-bar-files-menu

This error shouldn't happen. If it matters: the package a2ps 1:4.14-8 is
installed.
