Assigning ownership to individuals deters group and team maintenance, as other team members will feel like they are overstepping when working on a package for which other people are marked as Uploaders. In order to remove all barriers to team contributions and maintenance, make the 'Uploaders' field optional instead of mandatory when the 'Maintainer' is a team alias. This allows packages where we do not want to assign ownership to any individual, but leave them be purely team maintained, to do so.
control: forcemerge 798476 1041464 Hello, I wanted to do this some years ago, but the MIA team objected. So you'd need to speak to them first.
Thanks, I skimmed through that long discussion and it seems to me it went nowhere. I don't think there's any benefit in attempting to just restart it. What about escalating to the CTTE and ask them to make a decision? That way the matter can be closed one way or the other. Kind regards, Luca Boccassi
Hello, That would be a premature escalation -- if you want to drive this, please approach the MIA team.
