Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where
appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
I intended to start an X display on an old Sharp Mebius PC-CB1-M1.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I gave the startx command interactively.
* What was the outcome of this action?
A photo of the screen of the Mebius is visible here.

Appears that the contemporary modesetting process failed.
Consequently an earlier method of probing for a modesetting
was attempted but also failed. Error message
"/dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory" indicates a
detail of failure.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Expected the X display to work as in earlier Debian releases.
The Mebius is an old machine but quite useable for many purposes.
