Hi, This package fails to build a source package after a successful build (dpkg-buildpackage ; dpkg-buildpackage -S). This is probably a clear violation of Debian Policy section 4.9 (clean target), but this is filed as severity:minor for now, because a discussion on debian-devel showed that we might want to revisit the requirement of a working 'clean' target. More information about this class of issues, included common problems and solutions, is available at https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS/SourceAfterBuild Relevant part of the build log: The full build log is available from: http://qa-logs.debian.net/2023/08/13/beads_1.1.22-1_unstable.log If you reassign this bug to another package, please mark it as 'affects'-ing this package. See https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control#affects If you fail to reproduce this, please provide a build log and diff it with mine so that we can identify if something relevant changed in the meantime.
Hi Filippo,
I intended to have a look at bug #1043686 noticing that beads is
shipping a copy of cimg (which is packaged and should probably be
excluded from upstream source in favour of the packaged code).
When checking the download locations mentioned in d/watch I realised
that the last two packaged versions are not available for download.
It would be great if you could point the watch file to some place
where the latest tags could be found.
Kind regards
Andras.

Greetings, Andreas! I hope you are doing fine. The beads code is here: https://forgemia.inra.fr/pappso/beads We do not use/develop that software anymore. But it might still be useful to the community. In the hope I have answered your question correctly :-) Most sincerely Filippo
Hi Filippo, ping again. The currently packaged beads is not at the location you wrote. Please fix the watch file to report latest version. Thanks a lot Andreas. Am Sat, Mar 30, 2024 at 09:41:40PM +0100 schrieb Andreas Tille:
Greetings, Andreas, The git commit that seems to fix the bug is located at https://salsa.debian.org/med-team/beads/-/tree/1.1.22-1?ref_type=tags To me it looks like it is the HEAD of the master branch. Could you confirm this is correct ? Sincerely, Filippo

Dear Filippo, it would be *really* great if you please could provide a working watch file. As I said before https://forgemia.inra.fr/pappso/beads/-/tags just has 1.1.20. You somehow magically fetched two later versions and this should be reflected in debian/watch. Thanks a lot Andreas. Am Thu, Jul 04, 2024 at 06:22:44AM +0200 schrieb Andreas Tille:
Dear Filippo,
greeting and pinging again from Debian Med sprint. I would *really*
love to get an answer to the question where I uscan can fetch the latest
version which seems to come out of the blue otherwise.
I'm sorry to bother you so frequently about the very same issue
Andreas.

Dear Filippo, Am Thu, Oct 16, 2025 at 10:42:48AM +0200 schrieb Filippo Rusconi: Thanks a lot for the clarification. I perfectly trust your insight here. However, for what strange reason I just noticed some bump in usage stats[1] (possibly the number of installations increased due to Blends added to the installer, but there is also a slight increase in the real usage (green line) ). Since my main point (watch file reporting something I do not understand) is now clarified I've fixed the remaining bug (easy) and uploaded. We can do so once facing the next problem. ;-) Have a nice day Andreas.
