Hi, This package fails to build a source package after a successful build (dpkg-buildpackage ; dpkg-buildpackage -S). This is probably a clear violation of Debian Policy section 4.9 (clean target), but this is filed as severity:minor for now, because a discussion on debian-devel showed that we might want to revisit the requirement of a working 'clean' target. More information about this class of issues, included common problems and solutions, is available at https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS/SourceAfterBuild Relevant part of the build log: The full build log is available from: http://qa-logs.debian.net/2023/08/13/wpan-tools_0.9-1_unstable.log If you reassign this bug to another package, please mark it as 'affects'-ing this package. See https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control#affects If you fail to reproduce this, please provide a build log and diff it with mine so that we can identify if something relevant changed in the meantime.
Hi Guido, since wpan-tools came up as Bug of the Day candidate today I tried to help with the Salsa migration of this package since I understood you are welcoming this. I have injected the result of `gbp import-dscs` to Debian team on Salsa https://salsa.debian.org/debian/wpan-tools Please let me know if you have some more fine grained repository somewhere else. I'd happily take over this and rewrite history on Salsa in case you agree that the package should be sensibly maintained there. I fixed Homepage and added a watch file. There is a newer version on Github, but I did *not* upgraded the upstream version yet since I have no idea about this code and would like to leave it to you to go this step. Otherwise I updated the packaging to recent standards including fixing the open bug - thus its tagged patch[1]. Ideally you could take over from here and do a maintainer upload either of the currently packaged or the new upstream version. If you do not have time for this I could easily NMU the current state of the said repository. Kind regards Andreas. Hi Andreas, https://salsa.debian.org/agx/wpan-tools if you can pick that up instead (and add our watch file, thanks for that!) I can do an upload but I can't test the new version as I don't have hw near me anymore. I'll add Carsten in cc: as he was interested in wpan-tools too in the past so maybe we can drag it along together. Cheers, -- Guido
Hi Guido, Thanks a lot for the prompt response. Thanks again Andreas.
Hi Andreas, Thanks, MR for the update is at https://salsa.debian.org/debian/wpan-tools/-/merge_requests/1 I'll give Carsten a chance to have a look and will otherwise upload in a couple of days. One note: it seems your update didn't update the tags which confused all tooling¹ as the remote tags had different sha1 than what was in my repo. Not a big deal, just mentioning it in case you have a script to do such things that could be updated. Cheers, -- Guido 1) https://salsa.debian.org/agx/dom-tools/-/blob/main/release-dom-component?ref_type=heads

Looks good so merged this. I just realise that you wanted to have
Carsten a look at the MR - stupid me for this oversight. As a
punishment for me I volunteer to rework the repository *including*
correct tags (see below) if Carsten might find some issues.
Sounds great.
I guess the problem occured since I was using gbp import-dscs first
(since Salsa search did not uncovered your private repository). Since
I pushed the result first the tags generated here were used inside
the repository on Salsa.
Later on I cloned your repository and added my own commits but this
did not changed the tags.
Thanks a lot for being that quick (and sorry for me being to quick -
as I said I'll care for the cleanup if this might lead to something
that should be reverted).
Kind regards
Andreas.
Hi, I have updated the tags already before sending the mail. No need to do anything in that regard. -- Guido

Hi Carsten, Am Thu, Feb 05, 2026 at 06:04:05PM +0200 schrieb Carsten Schoenert: Have fun with your trips! I've NMUed to delayed=5 (to somehow get this from my desk of packages not on Salsa). There was no version bump yet so this should be OK. Please check the upgrade to new upstream once you might find some spare cycles for this. See you Andreas.
We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of
wpan-tools, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive.
A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is
attached.
Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 1046164@bugs.debian.org,
and the maintainer will reopen the bug report if appropriate.
