Dear Maintainer,

I first saw that the keyboard was very laggy (more than 10 seconds to print
what I typed).
So I sshed my machine.
I tried to restart ibus, it did not answer.
I tried to stop it (ibus exit), ditto.
I had to kill it with killall -9 ibus-daemon.
I can now type but I lost my French dead keys and compose key.
ibus start was launched a few minutes ago and it's still running.

Hi Nicolas,

Since you are on LXDE it's not clear to me why you use IBus at all. You
don't need IBus to use dead keys and a compose key.

If you run

im-config -n none

and reboot, you will enter a session without ibus-daemon running and
without environment variables telling your apps to use IBus.

Can you please try that and let us know if you are able to make sense of
your keyboard that way.
