Dear Maintainer,

I cannot put my finger on exactly when this changed, but after some upgrade in sid all auto-detected printers default to monochrome, and I have to hand-change them to color before I can print in color. Is there some default option I can change somewhere so that color printers are autodetected for what they are?

I think this is already fixed, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1039983
With version 2.4.7 it should be solved
