Dear Maintainer, please remove the 'stable' symlink on mirrors. It causes more harm than good. If someone has 'stable' in their sources.list, it effectively turns their debian-stable system into a system that will change on a random date without user knowledge (careless `apt upgrade`, not reading release notes for stable+1). The other symlinks like 'testing' and 'unstable' are fine and don't need to be removed, this is only about the 'stable' symlink.
Control: reassign -1 ftp.debian.org That would need to be an archive change, not a mirroring one, so I'm reassigning the bug to the relevant team. It's really unlikely they would consider doing this, however. (Users also shouldn't be getting systems with "stable" in sources.list in the first place.) Regards, Adam
