Dear Maintainer,

* Install 'audacity'.
* Run 'audacity'.
* 'OK' the welcome dialog.
* Edit theme to dark on a dark mode Desktop Environment (DE) such as GNOME.
* Close 'audacity'.
* Restart audacity.

The welcome dialog show/hide text will be a very light grey and hardly
visible to the user.

Seems like upstream are reluctant to fix.
