Dear Maintainer,

Given Google's recommendation of using ARC[1] when forwarding emails,
could activation of `EXPERIMENTAL_ARC` support in the Debian packages be
considered ?

The email server I run has a number of aliases and user-mediated
(procmail etc) forwarding of email to GMail accounts. Obviously this
breaks DMARC/SPF/DKIM checks if no attempt at mitigation is made.

I could find no mention of `EXPERIMENTAL_ARC` within the `debian/`
directory of sid 4.97-2 exim4 sources.

Hello,

this a an experimental exim feature and therefore imnsho not eligible for
packages targeting for stable Debian releases.

Dear Maintainer,

While I agree that the feature has been marked as EXPERIMENTAL, it's
been in Exim4 for years now. Sender requirements are enforced by GMail
ever more strict and ARC signing is one of them. I too run into the
problem that exim4 in Debian doesn't have this feature enabled.

Switching to postfix and rspamd would be an option, if it didn't depend
on redis, which is unnecessarily complex for our setup.

Thank you for considering the request.

Regards,

Erik.

What's more: there's no switching to another MTA because e.g. postfix would
allow the use of a milter, but the other features Exim4 brings to the table
aren't all available on Debian for Postfix.

Erik.
