Docker Engine v25 (not yet natively packaged as docker.io, I know - but docker-
ce from their repo has it) deprecates legacy API versions:
https://docs.docker.com/engine/deprecated/#deprecate-legacy-api-versions

This affects libnss-docker, because it has API version 1.21 (set at configure
time).

A workaround until Docker Engine v26 would be to set
DOCKER_MIN_API_VERSION=1.21 for the Docker Daemon, but after that, a minimum of
1.24 is required.

Raising the severity of this issue to RC because docker.io version 27,
that does not implement the old APIs required by libnss-docker, is now
in unstable and will soon migrate to testing, breaking this package.

Hi,

in upstream issue

https://github.com/dex4er/nss-docker/issues/15

a fork

https://github.com/petski/nss-docker-ng

was announced. Please either consider packaging this for or lets remove
the non-functional package.

If there is no response to this bug in the next 31 days I will ask for
removal of this package.

Kind regards
    Andreas.
