Dear Maintainer,

on Debian testing/amd64 with Linux kernel 6.6.15-amd64, during the boot, I have duplicate kernel/system messages on my console:

- "normal" logs prefixed with timestamp
- some duplicate logs without timestamp displayed in light blue color

plymouth package is installed but not configured/used to display graphical
animation or logs during boot.

To fix my issue (display only "normal" kernel/system logs during boot), I need
to desinstall plymouth package via 'apt remove plymouth'.

Hi Maintainer,

This seems to also relate to my issue of how plymouth modifies the console messages printed out by the kernel. I've the linux kernel command line argument set as "quiet" which normally suppresses almost all boot screen messages except for some warnings or errors. As per the wiki, the quiet parameter "Disables most log messages".
However, the moment plymouth is installed using apt, this behaviour is modified without even configuring a theme or appending the "splash" parameter in grub config. The "quiet" parameter set in the grub configuration file is no longer respected and almost all logs are shown during boot. Is this the intended behaviour? If so, how can one toggle to adjust the verbosity of the messages shown during boot?
