2024 no position requests do not work anymore, e. g. in firefox, gnome
maps or even geoclue-2-demo's where-am-i. Requests simply hang:

Actual:

long call of the program and empty result.

This is an upstream problem too of course but are there alternatives
planned?

AFAIU, it won't work in most setups, as it relied on Mozilla's service which is now discontinued.

But it seems to be able to rely on other sources of location, so I think the bug title could be a bit less affirmative. Like "... in most default usage".

I'll also comment that I've installed https://github.com/ankitstarski/GeoclueShare/releases/download/v1.0/GeoclueShare-v1.0-signed.apk (mentioned here https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/geoclue/geoclue/-/wikis/home) on my *older* Android device which is also acting as a Wifi AP to my bookworm laptop. geoclue-2.0, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive.
