I intend to orphan the wayfire package as I no longer use software from WayfireWM ecosystem. The package description is: Wayfire is a 3D Wayland compositor, inspired by Compiz and based on wlroots. It aims to create a customizable, extendable and lightweight environment without sacrificing its appearance. Thanks, Boyuan Yang
Thanks so much. I get stuck in something during recent months. I am glad that somebody has decided to take over the responsibility for wayfire. Best regards, EiPi/DonX Nov 29, 2025
Hi, I'd like to adopt this package (and related packages) if possible. I'm a regular Wayfire user (on Ubuntu and Debian) and generally follow its development. I've already been involved in the last version in Debian (0.10) and I'm currently preparing the current latest version: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/wayfire/-/merge_requests/4 I'll update the MR adding myself as maintainer and upload the package to mentors. Note: generally, I've found the packaging process for Wayfire not too difficult (of course I can still make mistakes :)). The major concern is updating after a new wlroots release (on which this package depends): Wayfire typically targets the latest stable release of wlroots, and is only updated after a new release comes out; a compatible Wayfire release might follow only several months after a release of wlroots (so in the meantime, patches from upstream might need to be applied). Best, Daniel
