## What Led Up To The Situation?
Any action at all, whether:
- starting the application from scratch with a new drawing
- opening an existing drawing
- editing an existing drawing

## What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?
I have tried:
- multiple application restarts
- simplifying SVG code externally
- checking group IDs

Nothing has resolved the issue.

## What was the outcome of this action?
The application is functionally unusable as anything other than a layer is
unmanageable because it cannot be manipulated via the 'Layers and Objects'
panel.


## What outcome did you expect instead?
After restarting at least I thought it would kick it into shape, but it has
not.

I'll include as much information as I can that is not in the system
information
here. If that is nothing, please do ask, I will try to find a way to monitor
this!
