Dear Maintainer,
ImageMagick 7 was released with the Trixie upgrade last year, in July/August, but without support for JPEG XL (jxl) images.
I assumed this would be covered in the upgrades that always follow a major release. But, the year's passed now, we still can't work with jxl. Was this becasue of the bug in libjxl? If so, has that not been fixed yet? It doesn't seem to be included in the coming releases of ImageMagick (testing/unstable) either.
Both major DEs (Plasma/GNOME) now support jxl images, as do most of the default editors (GIMP, ffmpeg), viewers (Loupe, Gwenview) and readers (Evince, Ocular). So why has it been kept out of ImageMagick?
Of course there's also the issue of the 'magick' command not having a man page, or bash completion, but that's a different report.
I tried looking for the answers within the Debian mailing lists, but couldn't find one.
