Hi,

I had the pleasure to test plasma on wayland after an upgrade. It worked fine,
but some settings weren't merged, which is a minor thing and easy to fix.

But one mayor thing got me to switch back to x11: Window positions aren't saved
and restored (yet). This is a know issue, discussed here [1] and here [2].

Until this isn't implemented I have to insist that this gets recognized as a
blocking bug, because it has the potential to upset a lot of people and break
their workflow.

Best regards
Matthias

Nice to hear.

This is tracked upstream and I’ve linked their bug report.

As for the __blocking__ nature of the bug I’m not sure what you mean by that but it’s nowhere near an issue for which we can block or delay a Debian release.

So hopefully upstream fixes this before the trixie release and if it comes early enough we’ll package the updated plasma components.
But otherwise we will release without it.

Happy hacking !
