Dear Maintainer,

I installed KDE desktop (only that)
I have a kwallet set up, with blank password, so that the keyring wouldn't
prompt me.

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
I installed google-chrome, and when I opened it asked me to input my password
(but only chrome).

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Keyring unlock shouldn't have been popped up at all..

Then I scratched my head, of why.. So I launched up a journalctl, and find out
that gnome-keyring was triggering it..

   * Opinions:
Kwallet is a keyring itself, so having gnome-keyring makes confusion just like
in my case, because I was already thinking that I've done my setup correctly
for kwallet, why is it then popping still up, till I found out that a gnome-
component got installed.

Why is the gnome-keyring get installed with KDE desktop?

If this is not the relevant bugreport thread for this, feel free to redirect it
to the relevant package's bugreport thread.

Thank you,
Peter.

I checked the kde.iso.packages file at
https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/
which is currently providing Debian 13.3 and it still includes
gnome-keyring. The Debian Live images install more packages than the
default net installer images.

However, gnome-keyring does not show in kde.iso.packages at
https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-live-builds/amd64/iso-hybrid/
. That page has images for Debian Testing. Therefore, this issue
appears to be fixed in Debian Testing, but not in Debian 13. Someone
would need to do more investigating to figure out why. Someone should
also verify whether this issue is unique to Debian Live or if it
affects the net installer too.

Thank you,
