Hi, I noticed a minor bug in the desktop GUI. When adding an app to favourites from the menu, it closes immediately. While not critical, it affects the user experience, especially when reordering apps or after a fresh install. Great work on this amazing OS, and thank you for your dedication! Best regards.
Hi, sorry for the mistake, but I forgot to specify the Desktop: I meant Cinnamon. I didn't know how to submit it to the owner project, so the only way was you. Thanks and sorry again.
Control: retitle -1 cinnamon: When adding an app to favourites from the menu, it closes immediately
Control: reassign -1 cinnamon
Reassigning to the cinnamon package.
The maintainers of the cinnamon package will probably need you to
clarify what you meant by "When adding an app to favourites from
the menu, it closes immediately". What is the "it" that closes? The
app? Cinnamon? Something else?
It is often useful to use this checklist when reporting bugs:
* what did you do? ("steps to reproduce")
* what did you expect to happen?
* what actually happened? (including error messages if any)
The maintainers of the package will probably also ask what version of the
cinnamon package and other related packages you are using. A useful way to
get this information is to run:
reportbug --template cinnamon
Please send any further information about this to 1092108@bugs.debian.org,
keeping the subject line mostly intact (so that a maintainer who sees
your message out of context has a reminder of which package and which
bug you are talking about).
Thanks,
smcv
The problem with the Cinnamon desktop environment (latest version, 6.4.0) is that when the user right-clicks (default setting to usually open options menu for an item) on any app from the app menu (bottom left with the Cinnamon logo) and clicks on the "Add to favorite apps" option, the entire app menu suddenly closes (however having actual success in the operation) . I hope I have clarified this enough, thanks for the support.

Hi, I actually didn't know the specific version number, so I searched the internet for the latest Cinnamon version, but I see that's not correct. Anyway, the Cinnamon version in question is the latest currently present in the mirror deb.debian.org (Italy), downloadable from the terminal or, as in my case, during the installation of Debian 12.7 (CD iso from the official site). As always, do not hesitate to ask for clarifications as I will do my best to provide them. Thanks Il Lun 6 Gen 2025, 21:39 Fabio Fantoni <fantonifabio@tiscali.it> ha scritto:
