However, I can shut down the system by long pressing the power button. I managed to install the nv84 blob by adapting the instructions on the website "https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/VideoAcceleration.html". However, the blender problem and freezing problem persists. I also performed the "tsc=unstable" operation according to the suggestion in the dmesg output. Unfortunately I could not find a solution from the user list. Best regards.
Hello, Can you please test a newer kernel (e.g. from backports or unstable) and report if that behaves better? The newer the better. Depending on if that works better or not, we can look for the fix in upstream or report upstream with a recent kernel (which is what upstream usually requests if you have a problem in stable kernel). Hello! 1- I installed the kernel from the "backport" repository. The result did not change. 2- I added the "sid" repositories. I updated the kernel. But the system could not be used. 3- I installed "trixie" with a clean installation. But the result is still bad! I could not even see the "GNOME" screen at startup. There was only the cursor and the computer was freezing more often. The "dmesg" screen was full of "nouveau" errors. (linux-image-6.12.6-amd64) 4- I found "nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver" in the "Pardus 23 (debian bookworm based)" repositories. I installed the driver by adding the repositories to "bookworm". There has been no freezing yet. The problem with "Blender" has been solved. (linux-image-6.1.0-28-amd64) Best regards.
Hello Serkan, Could you forward that bug to nouveau@lists.freedesktop.org, please? Ideally keep 1092189@bugs.debian.org on Cc for that. Plain Debian also has a set of nvidia-legacy packages and I would expect that the one you found in Pardus 23 is just one of these. Note that the above mentioned nouveau list isn't interested in that one though, only the mainline nouveau driver. Best regards Uwe

Hello, a Debian user (Serkan, on Cc:) reported an issue with an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS card against the Debian kernel. The trigger seems to be running Blender or video playback which results in error messages and then a machine freeze. The problem was initially reported against 6.1.119, 6.12.6 failed to boot with many error messages by nouveau. For the detailed bug report (that also includes soem automatically gathered information about the system where the problem happens) please see https://bugs.debian.org/1092189 . Serkan already tried to forward this problem to this mailing list, but as their mail [1] didn't make it into the mailing list archive, I guess the report didn't reach you.
