For some unknown reason, the AppStream entry for pcscd disappeared
around the turn of the year.  It was last visible between December 24th
and new years even, and was disappeared when I extracted the list of
AppStream packages with hardware provides 2025-01-02.

I have no idea what is going on, but thought it best to file a report to
have the issue recorded.  My best guess is that there is some
interaction with the appstream parser that is not working as intended.

I was not even aware that pcscd had an AppStream entry.

I agree it is a prime suspect, but believe the problem must be in the
appstream parser, and put the appstream maintainer on CC to get help.
propose the package on machines with relevant hardware.  The rest of the
entries allow GUI package managers to give a user friendly presentation
of the package.
