Hello Debian Team,

As docker.io package is updated version 26.1.5+dfsg1-4+b1 in Debian Trixie.
Link: https://packages.debian.org/trixie/docker.io

Docker 20.10 has reached its end of life, and we would like to use a newer version in our projects. Given the widespread use of Docker, updating the package in Bookworm-backports would benefit both our projects and the Debian community.

Since, the Debian Trixie release may take some time, and even after its release, widespread migration might occur gradually.

We kindly request the Debian team to consider updating the docker.io packages in Bookworm-backports. While we anticipate the process may take time due to dependencies, we'd be happy to contribute and help expedite it if possible.

Thanks & Regards,
Badrikesh

Please refer to https://bugs.debian.org/908603 for information on why
the maintainer has decided not to backport docker.io to stable.
