Hi,

bochs currently Build-Depends-Indep on bcc, bin86, both built from
src:linux86. src:linux86 is NMU-maintained with the last maintainer
upload in 2008. There is at least one open bug suggesting it might
codegen incorrectly on 64bit archs.

Please see if you can make do without bcc, bin86. I think only
Debian and derivatives still ship linux86, so I guess it must be
possible to do without (but maybe not).

Thanks for considering,
Chris

Hi Chris,

It’s still widely distributed, as dev86, and used to build bochs; see
https://repology.org/project/dev86/versions and
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/bochs/blob/rawhide/f/bochs.spec for
example. There is an updated upstream repository at
https://codeberg.org/jbruchon/dev86 (continued from
https://github.com/lkundrak/dev86).

I’ve prepared an update to 0.16.21 from the lkundrak repository and am
reviewing the changes in the jbruchon repository. I’ve filed an ITS, #1094179.

Regards,

Stephen
